Soap and WaterThe young man was lucky to find the old prospectors shack in the middle of desert for he was out of food and water. The old prospector helped the sunburned man inside and quickly set about placing the table with a jug of water and tin cans for drinking. The young man drank gratefully and surveyed his surroundings. The place was strewn with broken pick axes, shovels, crates, old clothes and didn't smell so good in the hot sun. "Here have some grub," the old prospector offered. The young man looked from the plate to the unkempt shack, shook his head and said, "No, thanks." "What? You must be hungry", exclaimed the old man. "Go ahead, eat. I know my place doesn't look the cleanist but, I always clean my dishes with soap and water." With some trepidation, the young man took the plate and ate as he was in fact quite hungry. When they had finished, the old man gathered the dishes, spread them on the floor and yelled "Soap! Water!" The young man was shocked to see bounding from the back room two large, mangy dogs.
